Campire Flames cowl
Using German short rows to create curving stripes, the Campfire Flames Cowl is a simple but satisfying knit. Starting with a provisional cast on, the cowl is worked sideways in a repeating six-section pattern, with i-cord edgings and garter ridges providing extra definition. A Three Needle Bind Off joins the ends of the cowl and creates a neat, seamless finish.

Gauge
16 sts x 24 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch worked flat, blocked
I recommend working your swatch to include the short row shaping as worked in the first panel.
Exact gauge is not crucial but will affect finished measurements and yarn usage.
Notes
The waves of each section are created using the German short row technique. When you come to a ds, work both legs together as a single stitch.
The circumference of the cowl is adjustable by adding or removing complete sets of the six-section repeat. Each full repeat measures approximately 9.5”/22.54 cm and uses approximately 36 yds/33 m of MC yarn and 30 yds/27 m of CC yarn.
